From the days of Tin Pan Alley, where Gershwin ,Berlin, Kern and many more wrote songs that were played on all the jukeboxes through to the Golden Era of Hollywood Musicals, the rockabilly of the Brill Building starring melody royalty Carole King and onward to the folk era led by Bob Dylan and Simon & Garfunkel. This concert explores how these songwriters drew inspiration and influence from their Jewish upbringing and roots into their music, which in turn gives a unique aspect to their musical contribution.
